Tips To Save Money

We usually make sure to book at least 3–4 nights when traveling to the stunning island of Mykonos in order to fully take advantage of everything the place has to offer. We advise making reservations in advance to get the best rates on lodging and transportation. Before the busy Easter season begins is the best time to visit Mykonos, and May and September are often the most economical months.

There are two major methods to get to Mykonos: either by flying to the island’s international airport (JMK), which is served by a number of well-known airlines like RyanAir, EasyJet, Aegean Airlines, and Lufthansa, or by taking a ferry from a place in Greece to Mykonos New Port. The cost of living in Mykonos will be covered in more detail in the following section of this blog post, along with some suggestions for inexpensive activities to do there. Mykonos offers both expensive experiences and cheap ways to explore, so there is something for everyone. Learn more by continuing to read!

Choosing Where To Stay

Choose Mykonos Chora, sometimes referred to as Mykonos Town, as your home base for touring the island for a variety of compelling reasons. Staying in Chora enables you to quickly walk to a range of cafes, restaurants, bars, stores, and upscale boutiques because it is centrally located and close to the airport. This indicates that you can go to all you need without depending on transportation. Additionally, Chora is the location of some of the most well-known and scenic locations on the island, including Little Venice and the well-known windmills. You’ll be at the ideal location to enjoy the best that the island has to offer if you decide to stay in Mykonos Chora.

Getting Around

After experimenting with a variety of forms of transportation on Mykonos, including buses, buggies, taxis, and vehicles, we have determined that hiring a car is the most practical and secure method to explore the island. You can travel about the island at your own pace and stop at all the places that interest you if you rent a car. We advise making reservations for your rental car in advance to obtain the best deals and guarantee availability. We advise selecting an automatic vehicle when renting a car because the roads on Mykonos can be congested, uneven, and mountainous, making it difficult to drive a manual car under these conditions.

Although hiring a motorbike or buggies can be one of the more affordable solutions, we do not advise it because of the frequently severe winds on the island. Overall, we think that driving yourself about Mykonos is the most convenient and liberating way to explore it.

Which Beaches?

There are numerous possibilities to think about while selecting a beach on the lovely island of Mykonos. Visit the renowned Psarou Coast and its beach bar, Nammos, which is renowned for its exorbitant rates and upscale ambience, if you’re searching for luxury and exclusivity. There are many different beaches to select from if you want a more relaxed and economical experience or if you’re on a tight budget.

Our particular favorites are Pasaji near Ornos Beach and Branco in Platis Gialos. These two beach bars provide a wonderful fusion of sweet, laid-back music, clean waves, delectable food and beverages, and reasonable costs. These beach bars provide sunbeds starting at €30.00 for two persons, which includes two beach towels, an umbrella, and two small water bottles. Remember that the cost of your sunbed will increase with how close it is to the water. However, even with this additional cost, you may still have a fun and peaceful day at the beach without going overboard. There is a beach on Mykonos for everyone, whether you’re looking for opulence or economy.
